Faceted Black Spinel Gold Pinned Bail Necklace

78.00

A stunning faceted black spinel is uniquely suspended in an elegant pinned bail on delicate gold cable chain.  The stone measures 3/4". Necklace length is 17" -18" with adjustable length chain closure.  14k gold fill.

About Black Spinel:  Black spinel is a gemstone that is relatively unknown to consumers due to its rarity. It is an opaque, jet-black version of the red spinel, which with its brilliant sparkle is often mistaken for the ruby.  The origin of the name spinel is unclear, but it is possibly derived from the Latin word “spina,” meaning thorn, perhaps due to the brilliant color of the red spinel, or because of the sharp crystals which can be seen within some spinels. There is a sheen to black Spinel that other black stones don't have without a waxing agent being added.  Also, spinel won't take on a worn look over time because of it's hardness.

About 14k gold fill: 14K gold filled wire is a professional jewelers grade wire. It will not tarnish, crack, chip, peel, or turn your skin green. Under normal circumstances it will last an entire lifetime. Gold filled wire is not plated. It is a tube of solid 14K gold mechanically bonded to a brass or silver base. There is 100 times more gold in gold filled than in gold plate wire. This layer of gold must be a minimum of 1/20th of the total metal weight to be called gold filled. The color looks exactly like 14k gold.

Your jewelry will arrive beautifully gift wrapped in a small box. If this is a gift being shipped directly to the recipient, please let me know. I will be glad to include a note from you.
