Beautiful smoky blue iolite stones are wrapped in my herringbone weave frame. So simple, yet unique. Measure 1 1/4". Leverback earwires. Sterling silver, which has been oxidized and hand polished for an antique finish.

About Iolite: The name iolite comes from ios, the Greek word for violet. The Vikings used Iolite’s ability to transmit light by using thin slices of the stone as a light polarizer to navigate their trips. By observing the sky through iolites, the Viking navigators were able to locate the exact position of the sun on overcast days. Iolite became a popular in jewelry in the 18th Century in Europe.

Your jewelry will arrive beautifully gift wrapped in a small box. If this is a gift being shipped directly to the recipient, please let me know. I will be glad to include a note from you.
