Stamped Gold Paisley and Ethiopian Opal Earrings

48.00

Exotic stamped gold and mysterious gems.... Yes please. These earrings are made of hand stamped gold fill.  The design is a beautiful paisley surrounded by rays.  The stones are little drops of Ethiopian Opal. They are dark blue/black with incredible iridescent flashes.  Measure 1 1/3". Handmade shepherd hook earwires. 14k gold fill.

About Ethiopian Opals:  Opal was formed many millions of years ago, when a combination of silica and water flowed into cracks and spaces in the ground. This then gradually hardened and solidified to become opal. Opals contain water, which makes them very sensitive to heat. They are soft and can be cracked or chipped easily. Opals should be stored in moist absorbent cotton.

Ethiopian opal is believed to be an old gemstone. In 1939, an anthropologist found evidence of use of the opal by early man in a cave in Kenya. It was not until the mid 1990s when the opal was re-discovered and mining was begun.
It is believed to enhance creativity and stimulate the imagination.

About 14k gold fill: 14K gold filled wire is a professional jewelers grade wire. Gold filled wire is not plated. It is a tube of solid 14K gold mechanically bonded to a brass or silver base. There is 100 times more gold in gold filled than in gold plate wire. This layer of gold must be a minimum of 1/20th of the total metal weight to be called gold filled. The color looks exactly like 14k gold. It is tarnish-resistant, safe for sensitive skin and unlike gold plate, it will not wear off. It is a great way to enjoy affordable gold jewelry.

Your jewelry will arrive beautifully gift wrapped in a small box. If this is a gift being shipped directly to the recipient, please let me know. I will be glad to include a note from you.
