Rustic charm with a touch of easy femininity. Soft green aventurine tubes are stacked with dreamy blue tourmaline and luminous labradorite and dangle below hand forged silver hoops. Dainty yet substantial. Handmade Shepherd hook earwires. Measure about 1 3/4”. Sterling silver, which has been oxidized and hand polished for an antique finish.

About labradorite: Labradorite is truly a fascinatingly beautiful mineral. Its a mineral whose charm is not fully noticed and may be overlooked if not viewed from the proper position. When the light hits this plain gray stone, flashes of blue, yellow and green, called labradorescence are revealed. Labradorite was first found in 1770 on the Labrador Peninsula in Canada. It is also found in Norway, and the former USSR. Legend says that Labradorite is a power stone, allowing you to see through illusions and determine the actual form of your dreams and goals. Sounds good to me!

About Tourmaline:   Tourmalines are gems with an incomparable variety of colors. The reason, according to an old Egyptian legend, is that the tourmaline, on its long journey up from the centre of the Earth, passed over a rainbow. In doing so, it assumed all the colors of the rainbow. And that is why it is still referred to as the 'gemstone of the rainbow' today.   There are tourmalines from red to green and from blue to yellow. They often have two or more colors.  No two tourmalines are exactly alike. This gemstone has an endless number of faces, and for that reason it suits all moods. No wonder that magical powers have been attributed to it since ancient times. In particular, it is the gemstone of love and of friendship, and is said to render them firm and long-lasting.

About Aventurine:   Aventurine is a translucent to opaque variety of microcrystalline quartz. It contains small inclusions of shiny minerals which give the stone a sparkling effect known as aventuresence. Aventurine ranges in color from green, peach, brown, blue and a creamy green. Besides its uses in jewelry, aventurine is also used for ornamental purposes like vases, bowls, and figurines.

Your jewelry will arrive beautifully gift wrapped in a small box. Multiple items will be combined, unless separate boxes are requested. If this is a gift being shipped directly to the recipient, please let me know. I will be glad to include a note from you.

FAQ

What is this jewelry made of?

I use quality sterling silver, 14k gold fill and 14k gold.  Occasionally I throw in some bronze, copper or brass.  I use all natural gemstones, some have been treated to enhance color.

About 14k gold fill: 14K gold filled wire is a professional jewelers grade wire. Gold filled wire is not plated. It is a tube of solid 14K gold mechanically bonded to a brass or silver base. There is 100 times more gold in gold filled than in gold plate wire. This layer of gold must be a minimum of 1/20th of the total metal weight to be called gold filled. The color looks exactly like 14k gold. It is tarnish-resistant, safe for sensitive skin and unlike gold plate, it will not wear off. It is a great way to enjoy affordable gold jewelry.
